With Office 2011 for Mac, you can check spelling and grammar in languages other than English. Word 2011 for Mac comes with foreign-language dictionaries such as Czech, French, Russian, and more. The default dictionary determines which language’s proofing tools Word uses for spelling and grammar.

You can change Word’s default language dictionary:

1. Use a custom dictionary in Office for Mac Add a word from your document to a custom dictionary. Create a new custom dictionary in Word. You can save a new custom dictionary in any location on your. Import a custom dictionary in Word. The Custom Dictionaries dialog box in Word lists.
2. Changing default spellcheck from US English to UK English. Word's spelling checker uses all of the installed proofing tools for each document including several flavors of English.
